Common questions
What counts as an 'active property'?
A property is active as long as it has an open transaction or repair tracker. Move it to Archive (after closing) and it no longer counts against your monthly limit.
Can I switch plans anytime?
Yes — upgrade or downgrade from your billing settings. Pro-rated to the day. Refunds for the unused portion of a paid month.
Is there a setup fee?
No. Free signup, 14-day trial on paid plans, no card required until your trial converts.
Do clients pay anything?
No. Clients, agents, buyers, sellers, and contractors all use the portal free via magic link. You're the only paying customer.
Does HomeFile work with my existing inspection software?
Yes — any tool that follows the ASHI Standards of Practice categories can post findings to our bridge API. We can also import structured exports from PIS, Spectora, HomeGauge, and most ISN-compatible tools.
What about my data if I cancel?
Your data stays accessible read-only for 60 days, then exported as a CSV / PDF bundle and deleted. Active properties can be transferred to a new HomeFile account.
